21st Century Literacies Integration
Typically when we sit and observe an English class we expect to see the teacher standing at the front of the room talking to their students about the class novel they just finished reading right? Well if that's not what you were thinking then you're already one step ahead of the game. In most middle and high schools the instruction is teacher centered and focused mainly upon the actual books students are assigned. In the ideal 21st century classroom the instruction is student centered and focused upon the skills we are trying to teach students, not the books they are reading.
